People Pleasing

I certainly can relate to this. When I was a child having corrective surgeries they kept me in the hospital for almost a week. That was their policies back then. But they also let me walk around with a water pitcher and let me fill up other patient’s water glasses. I got so much praise for being so helpful and so brave. It felt good and I wanted to do more and get more praise. Being thanked and helping still feels good but not when I don’t feel like helping or when I just want to be left alone. Lots to learn and practice here for sure.
