Don't Be So Hard on Yourself

I asked GPT to write a country song in the style of John Denver about being too hard on ourselves. I edited it a little.

(Verse 1) Sometimes we’re hard on ourselves We judge ourselves so harshly We hold on to our mistakes And we forget to forgive

(Chorus) But we need to be gentle, like the wind in the trees And learn to love ourselves, like the flowers and the bees We need to be kind, like the stars in the sky And tap on the pain, and learn to fly

(Verse 2) We all have our own stories And we’ve all been through tough times But we can’t keep beating ourselves up And reliving past mistakes

(Chorus) We need to be gentle, like the wind in the trees And learn to love ourselves, like the flowers and the bees We need to be kind, like the stars in the sky And let tap on the pain, and learn to fly

(Bridge) Life can be hard, but we can’t give up We have to keep tapping, and learn to love We need to believe in ourselves, and never give in And learn to rise above, and let our light shine again

(Chorus) We need to be gentle, like the wind in the trees And learn to love ourselves, like the flowers and the bees We need to be kind, like the stars in the sky And tap on the pain, and learn to fly

(Outro) So let’s be kind to ourselves And learn to love who we are And when we look in the mirror We’ll see a shining star.
