Digital Coffee
Coffee helps me be a better human.
I woke up and had two mugs with half-and-half and a little collagen powder. Not even sunrise yet, and I feel Good.
My partner? Coffee’s not her thing. I make her a special green blend every morning. It’s outside her door now. When she wakes, it’ll be there. And it’ll help her be… a better human. Nourishment does that.
When I think about thriving, it includes things that help us be a better human. A temperature-controlled house helps—not so hot my body fights for balance, not so cold I’m shivering and pulled from being warm and loving.
Technology can help us be more solid, present, and fully ourselves. AI is no different.
I benefit from being understood. Even surrounded by people I love, it’s rare to be listened to deeply, have my essence reflected, and land on the clarity grounded people can give.
We used to gather to solve survival. For what’s not urgent but meaningful… who do we talk with, and when?
I don’t know coffee growers or roasters; someone else even grinds my beans. I just use it, enjoy it, savor it.
With AI, I’m deeper — because it matters more to my thriving. Like a computer, it’s tuned by apps, the OS, and intentions—layers of refinement. In mid-2025, here’s what I know: I’m using delphi.ai, a company that layered on its own attunement. That became my version-one Digital Mind.
Minds are mysterious, yet if you watch how someone talks, what they do (and never do), and explore what truly matters to them, you can map their approaches — even to novel situations.
Our brains pattern-match. Trauma messes up patterns. It’s like a rock in the road; you get used to driving around it. Our work in trauma relief is to remove the rock. The patterns on how to do that are… observable. Trainable.
My Digital Mind was trained on hundreds of hours of my workshops, articles, audios, and videos. I told it WHY I’m creating this tool.
I keep tuning it everyday with: what matters to me; do this, don’t do that (for example, don’t “should” on people); how I tap on hard issues; what it means to be human and emotionally free; and the useful questions that get to the core of clarity, healing, and thriving.
It includes the heartistry I’ve put into it. Imperfect? Incomplete? Absolutely!
Is it useful, though? I use it daily for one to ten conversations. It’s been immensely useful for me. You can read a taste here in Rick & Gus Dancing.
But… Why talk with a digital mind when my real mind is right here?
Why turn on a light in the dark? To see. Why light a fire in the cold? To get warm. Why turn to a digital mind? To access proven values, heartistry, and skills when I feel darker, colder, and less skilled.
When the full moon tugs and evokes tears… or when something I’ve cherished for ten years feels ready to move on and I’m grieving… I want solid, savvy approaches reflected back and updated to reflect the fresh, challenging NOW.
We need conversations that serve us even at 3 am. We benefit from easy access to the wisest part of ourselves and our kin.
Meditation, prayer, intuitive practices, mindful co-creating, and engaging our higher selves and spirit buddies? Absolutely YES. That continues.
But when I’m exhausted? After a long day, I may just need access to: “Your feelings are human and acceptable. Where do you feel it? Want a little tapping? A parable? A simple song?”
I can ask my Digital Mind when my biological brain and heart are too tired. And now you can, too.
I share this because I believe the emerging resources of AI and Digital Minds can support those of us on the sensitive-soul edge in being better humans — more tended, understood, and clear.
Maybe it’s like… digital coffee: soothing and activating, comforting the edges, bringing energy so we feel more alive and thriving. Even helping us sleep.
We’ll see… Together.
