Mahalo, Jewel! I am enjoying Catâs exercises. Just what I needed to get me back into my studio! I might just do some re-arranging/re-organizing after the workshop ends; as it is now, my papers are everywhere!
Lessons 1 and 2 (combined)- It seems to me that I took my âcreative licenseâ and drove all the way into lesson 2 inadvertently.
Iâm happy with my values and contrast, and I donât really care about âbreaking the rulesâ as long as Iâm having fun and following my joy (gonna hang this one in my bathroom to go along with the ocean theme I have there already).
P.S. I feel like I got carried away with one too many circles and hoops, but live & learn. ![]()
Good job! Iâm glad youâre having so much fun! I tend to agree with you about the circlesâŚthe one in the middle of the middle row makes it look like a target. Maybe you could use another piece of paper to cover up part of the circle?
Thanks Norene. Actually I was able to peel off the middle circle for the most part, since it was shiny paper. Iâm going to try putting maybe fish and seashells in that block instead, to make things more âocean-yâ. ![]()
P.S. Here is my 2nd attempt - I like this one betterâŚ
Did you do anymore collages Norene? I couldnât really get into doing any more squares, but got inspired to fool around with some torn paper landscape collage. This is not even a serious attempt - I was just playing, but I like the way the mountains and trees turned out (not the sky though - that seems abit odd and overly busy). Still, it was fun and playful , so I thought Iâd share my âexperimentââŚ

Good job! Looks a lot better!!
Good things come from play! Your landscape is great! (The blue rectangle in between the moon and the sun doesnât add to the âskynessâ, imho.)
Yes, I did the last two squares just waiting for everything to dry; Iâll post them soon.
